Domaine de la Pepiere, Pays Nantais Loire Valley
Wine tasting at Domaine, de la Pepiere, one of the top producers of Muscadet wine in this region of the Loire Valley. A bit hard to find but had amazing hand crafted wines at great prices. There isn’t a better wine in the world with raw oysters.
Domaine Nicholas Joly, Savenieres Loire Valley
Wine tasting at the legendary Savennieres producers Nicolas Joly. Considered the godfather of biodynamic and natural wines, their powerful dry Chenin Blancs are long lived and eye opening. For 5 euros you can taste wine and stroll through the amazing grounds that are brimming with life.
Chateau Saumur, Saumur Loire Valley
Chateaus are plentiful in the Loire Valley along the river, and this one, Saumur is one of the most impressive and at the heart of the valley. There was lots of good rose and sparking wines here, along with one of the better steak restaurants in the Loire, La Boeuf Noisette.
La Rocheliere (hotel) Vouvray Loire Valley
A beautiful BnB style hotel with a roof top pool accessed through agent caves carved out of the hillside. Very warm owners and we took full advantage of the amenities, preparing our own homemade french roasted chicken to pair with our dry Chenin Blanc.
Cave of Philippe Foreau Vouvray Loire Valley
The Cave of Philippe Foreau, one of the top producers of Vouvray (Chenin Blanc) in the Loire Valley. The cave was mostly hand carved by the current winemakers grandfather. We had to beg to get in and our there was a bit of language barrier but it was a fascinating tour.
