Wine Trip

santa BARBARA

Travel SANTA BARBARA CALIFORNIA with us!

Here is a short itinerary of our recent wine trip to Santa Barbara California. If you can’t make the trip soon, open your 3 pack, cook up the Biryani dish, and join us!

Here’s a short condensed itinerary of my many trips to Santa Barbara over the years.

  • Fly into SBA Santa Barbara Airport. LAX is pretty far away and there is lots of traffic. Car rentals are quick and easy from the airport. If you fly Alaska, a case of wine flies home free!

State Street Downton Santa Barbara

The heart of Santa Barbara, and with many new outdoor eating and drinking options, a great place to chill during the pleasantly warm summers.

Bibi Ji Indian Restaurant

One of the best restaurants in town, with Indian dishes mixed with Santa Barbara seafood, and natural wines inspired by the great winemaker Raj Parr.

Funk Zone Santa Barbara

A booming area on South State street, with dozens of wine tasting rooms, brew pubs, and restaurants, another great location to just hang out and eat and drink all day.

Melville Winery

One of the prettiest wineries in the region, and also making great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (along with lots of other good stuff like Syrah). Just about 45 min outside of town.

Los Olivos

Los Olivos, a great little wine town about 45 minutes outside Santa Barbara, with many tasting rooms and shops, it would an ideal vacation for a long weekend up here at a B&B.

Stolpman

Stolpman, located in Los Olivos, is at once a winemaker with history in this region and some older established vineyards, but also on the cutting edge of what is new and exciting in the world of wine coming from this region. The tasting room is a ton of fun too!
