Here’s a short condensed itinerary of our wine trip

  • Savoie is actually pretty easy to get to despite its alpine location.

  • A car rental in Lyon or Geneva (the best airports to fly to) and 40 minutes later you are there!

  • You can even take the train from Lyon or Paris to Chambery right in Savoie. Only about an hour train ride from Lyon.

Chambery France

This quaint mountain town is actually one of the bigger ones in region and easily accessed by train. A perfect jumping off point for your Savoie trip!

Vineyards (and sheep) of Les Vins de Paradis

One of my favorite winemakers in the region, this healthy living vineyard is a great example of polyculture at work.

Tartiflette

In my opinion, the best dish in the Alps! Basically just roasted bacon, potatoes and cheese!

Alpine villages of Savoie

They couldn’t be more picturesque, and a better spot for a hike and some wine tasting.

Domaine Claude Quenard et Fils

The vineyards of Claude Quenard, now run by his sons, the “et Fils” in the title.

Dramatic Landscapes of Savoie

The region is nothing if not beautiful and breathtaking. Magic wine is made in magic places.
